[Daily march log 0905] go over Godenba Pass

0. Today’s photo is an encounter with elementary school children.

1. In the morning, walk about 10 kilometers from Iwanami Station to Kodenba Station.

2. Climb steadily to a height of about 200 meters.

3. I start alone again today. I’m trying to take good selfies. My expression‎ gets tense as I put up the placard and wondered if I would get a good picture.

4. It was hot when I left, but soon the clouds and wind are helping me.

5.

6. Although it is a quiet neighborhood, there are academy facilities for teaching children like anywhere else.

7. Japanese homes take special care in maintaining gardens both inside and outside the house. It would be nice if this kind of sincerity extends to opposing the release of nuclear pollutants, like caring for life.

8.

9. Before taking this photo, I encountered an important event. Children from lower grades of elementary school came here for a field trip in the fall evening. The procession happened to meet me. I didn’t want to miss this moment, so I held the placard up so that they could see it clearly. Then, one by one, they started looking up at my placard. As if this scene and text were fascinating, some children started taking pictures of me with smartphones and pads hanging around their necks. It’s an amazing era. As the number of children taking pictures increased, the teachers leading them began to panic. Then, they lined up in the original procession and started walking again. I waved to the children, and they also waved back as they walked.

10. I took this picture after the kids had already passed and they were far away.

The children who took pictures of me would ask their mothers what the pictures were about. Eventually they will know what it means and what the truth is.

11.

12. The ample scenery of the field is worth seeing.

13. Arrival at Kodenba Station

14. Mount Fuji seen from my room.

15. Tokyo is now closer.

16. The afternoon march is either flat or downhill. Departure with strong winds.

17.

18. Perhaps because it is a high altitude, the wind brings clouds.

19.

20. Autumn in beautiful rural areas

21.

22. While walking this path,

23. I also take commemorative photos.

24.

25. There are hiking trails leading up to Mt. Fuji everywhere. The area near the top where smoke comes out of the crater is impressive.

26. This person, a store owner in a quiet neighborhood, keeps putting his hands together as if I look like a monk. A commemorative selfie together.

27. Another beautiful view.

28. Vine plants encroaching on the road. Whenever there is a gap, power invades.

29.

30.

31. Arrived at Surugaoyama Station around 5:45pm.

It was a trip that enjoyed the luxury of fall.
