[Daily march log 0720] Ajisu Station~Shinyamaguchi~Daido Station

0. I took a picture with young people. Today’s photo.

1. Mr. Ando, who came to the departure point for four consecutive days. And Fumie, who lives in Yamaguchi City, came to Ajisu Station early in the morning to walk with me.

2. Reading of the March Declaration before departure.

3. A mediocre course of 11km each in the morning and afternoon.

4. Fumie-san says that six years ago, when I was on my way to Ube Station from Shin-Yamaguchi on the Life No Nukes Silk Road pilgrimage, she also walked 22 kilometers.

5. when I searched the records of that time, definitely I was leading the way with a banner. The diary of this time is available at the link below,

  6. Fumie, who also led the march today, enjoy communion with the driver in the oncoming vehicle.

6. I can see the wisdom of putting solar panels on a Japanese roof.

7. After a smooth march, we finished the 11km in 3 hours.

8. Walk together at 4pm after lunch break. In the afternoon, she wrote her own placard and brought it. “Don’t throw polluted water into the sea”

9. Take a commemorative selfie on a bridge.

10. While walking for a while, I met young people on their way home from work. She is curious about the story of walking to Tokyo. The eyes of young people shine.

11. A little later, another group of young people. They seem to work for the same company. Fumie speaks well at this time as well. A scene of cheering as if our actions touched them at once.

This encounter was good for me, and Ms. Fumie was overjoyed.

12. Take a selfie while passing by a scenic scene.

13. It’s the scene where I can smell the sagebrush that makes the mosquito fire.

14. A plain but neat garden seen from an alley in a residential area.

15. Arrived in 3 hours just like in the morning.

16. There was quite a bit of time left between trains and I asked her to write a message in the waiting room.

Hoping someone will give me an accurate translation, here’s a rough translation:

“There is nothing as remarkable as nature.
There is nothing so wrong as human behavior that afflicts nature.
Man cannot survive without nature.
Don’t pollute the ocean.
Don’t ruin the forest.
Don’t forget the blessings from nature.
2023. 7. 20.
Miwa Fumie”

18. On the train returning to Shin-Yamaguchi Station, where my lodging is located, I read the Ube Daily Newspaper (Ube Nippo) in Ube City. There, I see an article about the marching group that visited the Jose Coal Mine yesterday. It seems to have been published on a large scale.

19. Fumie introduces a delicious udon restaurant and buys me dinner.

20. I put a lot of chili powder on a large serving of tempura. The taste of udon noodles and soup is very deep and savory.

It was a pleasant day.
